Mary Quant red nail polish

My Gran was having a clear out of all her nail varnishes that she would not wear again for various reasons. Although some of them had gone solid or were just not particularly nice colours, this one caught my eye and I got to keep it and I am so glad I did.

It is shade 08- Red Scorcher

Need to improve my painting skills!

It must have been sitting in my Gran's attic for years but it was perfectly fine to apply. 

I then (attempted- it wasn't too successful) to make it appear to have a matte effect.

Claires nail polish

I bought this nail polish from my local Claires store, for, as you can see only £1. 

I must say I do like this purple colour and it went with a lot of outfits. Another thing I liked is how you can build up the colour. If you only apply one coat it is a very pale purple colour but you can work your way up to a dark, rich purple.

There were ever so slightly shiny flecks in it

However after only a couple of days of wear it began to peel away which I was a bit disappointed with until I remembered it only cost £1!
